The South Australian Public Sector (SAPS)like the other states particularly since COVID employs a large number of staff in SA, offering stable employment, strong conditions, and a wide range of permanent and full time roles. Expect the usual benefits such as salary packaging, flexible working arrangements, career mobility across agencies, and opportunities in both metropolitan and importantly in the regions where it is a bit cheaper to live.
The best place to start is on the “main” site, weirdly enough called I work for SA (not sure who was first with this name!) The usual suspects, namely Health, Education, Police, Emergency Services, and Corrections operate separate recruitment sites or advertise specialist intakes outside the main portal. If you rely on just one site, you might give up some of the best opportunities particularly if you have limited experience.
Lets go:
I Work for SA
Website: https://iworkfor.sa.gov.au
Scope: The official recruitment portal for the South Australian Public Sector (SAPS).
Why it matters:
Limitations:
- Health, Police, Education, and Emergency Services often recruit through separate portals
- Graduate programs and bulk intakes may appear elsewhere first, always best to get in first particularly if there are a large number of applicants.
